Would you help pay someone else rent ? you didn't know........?

the reason I am asking because I want to know if there are some good angels out there or we all to involved into ourselfs.....

If I had the means to, yes.

I've been raised around a religion, and membership is very important in it. Mostly, non-members aren't fraternized with, but since I've been around it since childhood, being a non-member hasn't stopped them from talking to me, even though they threatened to a lot.

Well, my roomates kicked me out, citing that I had strayed too far from the teachings (which is ironic because they were actual initiated members who broke more teachings, but since they were initiated they were trusted more no matter what).

All my life I was told not to associate with non-members (the sermons said such). Well, I get kicked out of my house, I go to my mom's (who is a member), she refuses to help me and says I "deserved" it.

I spend almost a week in a hotel, running out of money, and somehow my boss finds out my situation and loans me enough money to get an apartment! She is not of the same religion. In fact, I have no idea which religion, if any, she is a part of. So, there are still random, good people out there.

Sorry for the long story but I wanted to explain why I say it.

...and sometimes roomate's and a religion turn on you and the only people left by your side are people you thought you hardly knew (like workmates). Report It

if i was bill gates....than i would definately do that

I'm actually a really cheap person, and I have issues even loaning people money for lunch. =/
I'm cool with helping people to find jobs, or doing chores for them, but my money stays in my poket.

If I had the money, I would hand it out, I have always been right on the edge. If I won the lottery, all I would do is help others.

The reason IS the point. Help my brother...yes. Help my dope smoking crackhead neighbor ....no F$@#%^& way

ya sure

when i managed a live-in pub in london i was forever using creative accounting to balance the books because my staff - who i barely knew - couldn't balance a till to save their lives.

i always felt that, in a way, i was paying their rent.

but in direct answer to your question, only family.

Only if you are a good Samaritan or a great philanthropist who makes a good income. That would be logical.

Otherwise, paying somebody else's rent is out of the question. If you don't have the income or funds to take care of your needs, then you should worry about your own welfare.

If I had the extra money, sure. It also depends on the person.

I would, if I had money now I would, I like doing favors and helping people, it makes me happy to see people's problems go away with one little favor, unfortunatelly things now are a little tight, but if you ask me to do it when things get better absolutelly I would, if I could.

I don't think that I would be able to say, unless I was actually faced with the situation. I want to say yes. But I don't know. And I can't say no at this point because I'm not sure if someone was desperate, that I wouldn't help them out. I gave a guy $20 once because he said he was trying to get home and was trying to get enough money for a bus ticket. And that's how much I had on me at the time.

Hi,
The fact is all working people help welfare people pay their rent each and every month. The real question is......is it fare that we pay taxes into the coffers of our government each paycheck only to have that money go to people that don't have enough motivation to get off their lazy butts to work at improving their lives. And don't give me all that %$#& these are just poor folk that don't know any better because of their upbringing. They learned to be lazy becuase most likley their parents were welfare rats. Doesn't any body have any pride any more? I say if you can't afford your rent...then get a better job. I've known single mothers that have done just that and now they own houses.... so yes it's possible. All it takes is some motivation.
