How can someone like me- without a million in assets and not making 200,000 a year become a startup investor?

I am interested in becoming some sort of "Angel" Investor but I am not going to be accredited according to the SEC. so how does someone like me- want to invest in startups which I think are going to make it big, do it? are there clubs for people who can invest less than 25,000? will companies even take my money if I can only give them 5,000? who do I contact in these situations- is it possible to just contact the founders of the company and get a notarized contract as proof of investment or something?

Im not sure I understand your question. So if I give some advice that is not relevant to your question, forgive me.

If you are a small investor and want to get started investing in the stock market,

Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account. If you do this, and you have extra cash, then one of the best things you can do is open a DRIP Plan.

These powerful investment plans are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.

They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down. They are a must for any serious investor.

I strongly recommend looking into it. They are great plans.
