There are loads of places - I know there's a big cinema there, and a couple of supermarkets, plus all the high street retailers. There are multiple cafes and restaurants, or you could try bars if you are old enough. You could also try something a bit different like working in the library.

If I were you I would walk around with a stack of CVs and go into anywhere that you might be interested in working. If they have vacancies advertised in the window, ask to speak to the manager. If there are no vacancies advertised, just ask anyone working there how you would go about applying. Some places may have an application form for you to fill out, or other places may ask that you leave your CV.
