Where can I find Angel Investors?

I a looking for a forum of sorts, where I can talk to investors (preferably Angel), where I can find out what they want, what they expect, etc. I am specifically looking for this to help me develop my business plan to be more desirable.

CNN Money http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/28/magazine... has a very good article on angel investors, what they typically look for, what kind of investments they support, etc.

You may want to go and pitch your ideas where investors gather. Here are some places where angel investors come and those looking for funding can come and pitch their business plans. Be sure to have a strong business plan and describe what makes your business idea stand apart:

Angel Capital Association http://www.angelcapitalassociation.org
Angel's Forum http://www.angelsforum.com
Band of Angels http://www.bandangels.com
Common Angels http://www.commonangels.com
Keiretsu Forum http://www.k4forum.com
Launchpad Venture Group http://www.launchpadventuregroup.com
New World Angels http://www.newworldangels.com
New York Angels http://www.newyorkangels.com
Prairie Angels http://www.prairieangels.org (charges $125 to submit idea)
Robin Hood Ventures http://www.robinhoodventures.com (charges $250)

Note though that angel investors would want to see a COMPLETED business plan. I suggest you work on your business plan first to complete it. If the angel investor is interested, then they may make suggestions on your plan.

As the previous answerer noted, the best place to find a REAL list of angel investment forums is at the website of the Angel Capital Association, their official 'trade group' [see the link below]

As to how the process works and what angels are seeking, Forbes has a nice video posted on their site of an interview with the head of the largest angel group in New York.

While some angels will invest in a pure idea, and others only in already-profitable companies, most angels tend to invest in 'early stage' companies that have already gotten started using the founder's own cash, or whatever s/he can raise from his/her friends and family.
