a message for amy22

if you set up a regular standing order then the minumum buy at any one time is 拢50. also from the NS+I website

you have to have a premium bond holders number, which means you have to buy 拢100 worth first, then you can buy 拢50 per month.

but it gets better than that. if you have a premium bond holders number but no premium bonds (like I had following my bankruptcy - I was forced to sell the 拢2 worth my granny bought me 30 years earlier) then you dont need to buy the 1st 拢100, you can go straight into buying the 拢50 a month, so although its very difficult to do, you can own just 拢50 worth.

Not worth investing in... go for Government bonds and invest a lot!

1 x Bond = 拢100 (Basically an IOU for the Government over 10 years)

拢100 x 10 years = 拢100 (You get back what you invested) + 4% for each year.

Thats an extra 拢4 per year, giving you 拢140 at the end of your 10 years. BUT WE DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT!

IF you got the money, invest thousands! You make thousands back!!!

In the UK the minimum investment is 100 Sterling pounds.

'Purchase and holding limits
24. You may only buy Bonds in multiples of 拢10 (ten 拢1 units). The minimum purchase at any time is 拢100 (one hundred 拢1 units)' From the National Savings and Investments website.
