How shares & investments work,stock exchange?

How it works?How to learn these things,i m science student and i dont know anything about this.What is stock,shares,bond ,equity funds etc.

Shares: in terms of business organisations share is the portion of ownership that any person has in the company or firm.
There are two ways to get the finance in companies:
1. internal capital (shares, stock or equity capital )
2. external borrowings (bonds or debentures)

Investment: the employment of capital money is call investment in easy terms.
The shares and bonds is an investment.
Working of Shares, investment and stock exchange.
If we understand the function of stock exchange then it will be easy to understand the working of shares.
As we have discussed earlier that shares are internal capital, the co. collect that capital by announcing the offer to invest in co.
The people have got the shares, now they can sale and purchase these in stock exchange.
