How do I leverage capital?

How is the best way to go about leveraging capital?

I read recently that banks leverage at 10:1, or even higher.

Houses let you leverage at 5:1 (for scalable investments)

Stock margin accounts let you leverage at 2:1

Forex lets you leverage a lot - but that's really risky, and options can let you leverage too.

Why don't you just decide on a dollar figure that you can live with losing, and flush that amount of cash down a toilet? It will be a much faster and less painful way to learn that you don't understand what leverage means....

Thin's answer was harsh but he's got a point.
If you have to ask this question, you aren't qualified to buy on margin or borrow money to invest.
I strongly suggest mutual funds.
