How to get my $2K deposit for furniture back? Store has filed for bankruptcy (ch11). I paid with Mastercard.?

The delivery time was 3-4 months, which is _now_, so I paid the deposit 4 months ago. I just received the letter announcing their filing for ch11 today.
I have all their paperwork (including "promised" delivery date).
Will my credit card company allow me to reverse/dispute the charge on the grounds that they haven't delivered anything (and I now know that they won't)? Most likely the CC won't be able to recover anything from them either, given that they're protected with Ch11 bankruptcy filing?

Oh, and they are filing to "restructure" their business (read: "get rid of debt at the expense of paying customers and start anew"). Is any judge going to let them do that?

Also I am told that if I get in line with the other creditors, the chances of getting anything back is pretty slim, as customer deposits are probably at the end of the list of creditors that will be repaid...

$2,000 is a lot of money! Any ideas, suggestions, help is appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers,

-- Greg

Immediately contact your credit card company to dispute on the basis of payment rendered and product not received. They really don't need any more info than that. Basically you paid for a service/product and never received it so your credit card company and the FTC along with the Attorney General of your state can provide you with more details about the process. You generally do have a time limit so do immediately dispute this item with your credit card company, some can even be disputed directly through the credit card website. Good Luck
