Being reported to collection services ?'s? |
i heard that if you are in debt with a business and you pay some money to them every month whether it be $1 or $75 that they can not turn you into to collections because you are making payments but not their standard payments they want. is this true and if a business is to do this is it illegal. reason being is that i owe t-mobile $589 but i i just got enough money to start making some payments but it wasn't the payments they had asked for(they were asking for 200 and some odd dollars every two weeks) i ended my contract in November of 2007 and they just turned me in after they have received my payment. As long as you and the creditor enter into a written contract that you both agree on,yes, you can pay as little as one dollar and you cannot be harassed by collectors.Verbal contracts do not work, make sure it is written or the creditor can and will do whatever is necessary to recover there $$.Hope this helped. |
