Would you use your investment for a new business endeavor, or try to improve your quality of life?

I have been offered $x to open my own business, which is a sure success. This $ is only for investments. Earlier my fiance's friend said I'm nuts to do it before "improving my quality of life". We own our own cars (2000 or newer), very little debt, but live in a somewhat "shady" area.. which we're okay with because it's cheap.

Did he have a legitimate point in delaying the opening of my business? Or is he just nit-picking because he's 25 and has no direction in life/school?

I'm open to all opinions!

I am not very sure what type of business could be sure success. Unless your business is monopoly a certain market. I am sure this is temporary only.

Should you improve your quality of life first before you start investing? I am sure the answer is no, but you have to maintain certain level of image. Since you capital is limited, you should invert first enjoy later. Do you know Robert Toru Kiyosaki, before he was success he was staying in cheap motel and stay over night in his car during the winter night.

You should put your mind on your business before enjoying your life. Good luck.

Yes definitely invest first in the business. It sounds to me that your friend is probably only thinking from his own point of view, which is that he'd rather buy new stuff for himself than create a business.

Besides, if you wait, the opportunity to open the business might be gone. If it's a sure success, well then you can be sure that there are other people with the same idea and the longer you wait, the greater the chance of someone else opening their own shop.

Similar businesses have a tendency to pop up very quickly once an idea comes to light. Invest now and be the first while you still can!
