How Long Till I get Return on my Biz?

I have a business in Web Design and Development for almost three years and half. Till now I did not get money from my business. I just invest in it. I was thinking of how long till I make money from my business? It has been more then three years and I am just covering the cost of my business.

How long till I get money from my business? Is running a business for more then three years and only covering cost normal?

It is safe to say though that, since you haven't shown a profit in three years, there's something wrong with your business model. You are neglecting sales and marketing and/or overpaying in costs.

i been around for quite sometime on the net working on my biz as an infopreneur. to do that i have to read a lot ebook, listen to audio, webinar and patiently read almost 25-30 daily and trash out another 10-20 daily just to get the idea what internet biz is all about.

i don't have much capital to spend so i used mostly free stuff and that really help me a lot because if i do have money and spend it in the kind of internet biz environment that we currently live in definitely i would go bankrupt.

from my experience i think the internet biz mentality and concept that are used by the majorities of internet marketers are actually benefit tremendously to " internet gurus", people with a lot of money to spend and scammer. and the victims are newbie and people with not so much money to spend will quit their online biz once their capital dries up. probably within a year or so.

another thing i found out is that you need to have multiple stream of income and 2 or 3 niche site. since you are web designer you have the advantage. you can create live optimized website with original content and sell it. do you know that there is a guru who sell new 1000 website with content for almost USD100 each and sold it in 1 day to his list. do you believe that?

but can i ask you how can you manage to run the same biz without any profit for such a long time? i think you should take a look at your biz model again. is it really profitable with the way you run it? i'm not an expert in web design biz so i cannot comment much but i believe the most important aspect of making money online is by creating a real estate which mean an entity that increase in value over time. hope it helps.

If you haven't made money in this amount of time there is a flaw in your business model.

If you are not making a profit then either your selling price is too low (or not enough sales), your costs are too high, or your overhead is too high.

You will make money the day your sales revenues exceed your cost and overhead. Web Design is just not a capitol intensive business.

If you are getting hungry then walk into a small business and ask them if they are happy with their website. Show a couple of your dazzling designs and offer to design / improve theirs for only [some small amount]. Be prepared to cost justify (having my product brings you more money than it costs).

You must be prepared to 1) market convincingly, 2) contract correctly, 3) perform excellently, and 4) collect immediately
