Is there any place to get information on what are really good start up businesses?

I now own my own business that is successful but it was something I already knew from previously being employed in this field. Now I wish to start a second company and need some direction on what kind of businesses are the up and coming to start. I have a neighboring businesses in our business park that the guy started as a hobby (selling pen kits and turning blanks!) who would have thought this would be successful but he is doing 1.5 million in sales! I want to invest in another business but of course want to be wise about it. And if I choose a product how do you go about finding all the suppliers to get it from. I would like to do something more as a internet sales that I can run from anywhere. Even if I need to buy products I can store in my existing business warehouse. Any help would be appreciated!

There are many different things you can do. Here are a few quick ideas. Below I will also link to a few of the websites that might help with ideas.

1. Take your current (Create a website) around that business and add different online revenue streams based on your business. Not knowing your business I can't really give you to make ideas, but if you need some e-mail me :)

2. You can make a nice stream of income with Google or Yahoo Adsense Basically set up a site on any niche, Add articles based on the niche. Add either yahoo or google advertising and each time a visitor to the site click on the ad you make a commission.

3. See merchandise using drop shippers. This is one way we make a nice income. You have a company that will set up a shopping cart with merchandise that you can resell from them. They will ship and store all the merchandise for you, all you need to do is keep the orders inline.

Two great resources for online or offline business are forums and entrepreneur magazine is also a GREAT source of ideas. I hope this helps

Here is to your success
