Business idea and religion..?

I have found a business oppurtunity. I did some research and realised that an area close to where i live can provide a substantial amount of revenue for me if i set up a club there. But i have a problem... As a christain, would it be wrong for me to invest in this business for the objective of monetary gain? I ask this because most people see clubs as a residence for sinners and etc...

Please share your feelings and responses with me...

From my Christian, not religious viewpoint, you don't want to make and addition to something that mainly appeals to the minds of people who prefer to indulge in 'excessive' activities, whatever you do let it be to add to the positive building of people's minds and to God's glory not for just for the change of your income. If you Trust and be Patient you will get a better opportunity.

It will be ok as long as you give 10% of your earnings as tithings to the church.

Many Christians mistakenly believe that "money is the root of all evil". In fact, it is the "lust" for money that is the sin. Money merely provides you with options and opportunities. If your primary objective is service to others through your business, then the income that is produced is a natural outcome. You will be in a financial position to give back to your community and your church, which is the "Christian" thing to do.

My dad was a minister. I ran a club in NY. Took a club that was drug infested, prostitution was rampid. My "team" and I cleaned it up, changed the name and stopped all the local complaints. It depends on your club. If you run a good clean club and it's a place where people can meet, be safe, have a good time then I don't see a problem with it. I made sure that drug dealers and other bad elements stayed out and if they were caught in my club the police were called to remove them. Heck we even did a chuch fund raising dance in the club. There are so many different "types" of the Christian faith you will not please them all. I remember when some churches were breaking Elivs records. Many people have different ideas about god and faith. Run a good clean club, give some of the profits to your local chruch and give some to charity. Go for it. No matter what you do today you will not please 100% of the people.

do not start any business just because there is money.

if you are not convinced about the business or work you will get into mental agony. donot forget that you have invested money and cant close down so easily. a person from jain community invested 10 lakhs on cockroch killing house hold pesticide. closed it 6 months since since killing is against to jain relegion. and lost money.
