I would like to know how to find out about companies just starting up to invest in?

I am ready to diversify my portifolio, by choosing some new companies to invest in, I would like to know how to go about finding them. I was once told there was an alternative fuel business you could invest in from Iraq. I do not have a clue as to how to find it.

Look IPO (intial public Offering) on the internet such as Yahoo Finance or marketwatch. These are companies that are offering stock for the first time

You are trying to earn money through investing. Follow Jim Kramer's advice and invest for profits only.

If you want to support environmental issues (I am all for this) then it makes sense to still find a company that has support in the capital markets; i.e. a lot of buyers are out there for the stock of that company.

Until the accounting rules are changed to define clear costs of creating pollution we are stuck with the capital markets as they are....

That's why Intel and others are backing Clearwire as an inroads into WiMax technology. The IPO was a bust which only means you have a better opportunity to get in reasonably and wait....

Someday we'll laugh about wired networks...
