I think it's a great idea.
Although I'm not sure just exactly what your business is I would strongly suggest you write a business plan with a two year prospectus , a marketing plan and have a reserve funds stashed away.
The business plan will allow you to create a blueprint of what you will need to run your business, check out the growth in your market and look at the competition. It will allow you to visualize just how to get from conception to realization and hopefully uncover some unforeseen incidents.
The more prepared you are the less unexpected surprises you'll have.

I don't think you can start a business for that small amount of money. Chances are some crook would take away your small savings.
