How can you find information on investors who would like to invest in my business idea?

If your talking about trading privately, then you start with friends & family who believe in you and your ideas. Expand from there.

If you can't get these folks you'll never convince anyone else.

Check out Venture capital firms or angel investors, thats how they make a living, investing in other peoples busnesses and ideas.

b_oregon is right, most startups looking for equity investors start with family and friends. Next, they look for angel investors, who are individuals and companies in the business of helping startups. VC is not a viable alternative, most VC firms require $5 million in revenues before they'll look at you, and VC is extremely tight nowadays. But, you might consider a loan as long as you have personal net worth and don't mind personally guaranteeing it.
