I have $800 bucks, what should I invest in to make $ or start a business.?

I turn 18 in 3 months. I live in moreno valley california and need to move out when I turn 18 for many family related reasons. I have no car because I cant seam to get hired anywhere even though I am Almost 18, and finsihed with school. I have been wanting to start some sort of business but after much market research I have been finding it hard to invest in anything that bigger competition wont kill me in (wanted to open online dvd store). I have already worked for a company a friend and I and his father started called MX Parts corporation. I took apart motorcycles and sole the parts on ebay. Problem withthis is we cant always find bikes cheap enough to make profit. I have $800 cash. What are some thing I should try to invest in? I plan on finding a job as soon as I turn 18 but would like to make at least 1,000 a month extra from a seperate business? There has to be somthing I can do... Thanks

you should invest in some transportation.
as far as your goal of 1000/ mo.,recycling metals will easily bring in that much. copper, aluminum,brass, iron, etc. easily obtained.

Well, Old Man Ferrari started with less, and made it big time, but I doubt you will turn $800 into $12,000 a year in most cases. You wouldn't be looking for answers on yahoo anyways.

Your best bet would be to invest your first $800 into college, into some business classes. Get a job, and try to pay the rest, maybe get a corporate job that would help pay the bills. Get some work and life experience.

Save up about $125-200k, and you might be ready to start a small business.

its not your age that is stopping you from getting a job, its your lack of experience and knowledge. So if you don't get some kind of training or college experience you can be in this situation down the line and be 28 and still not have a job that your making $1,000 a month. Get some education first, and work at any fastfood place you can to get u through it. We all gotta start somewhere.

Don't be afraid of bigger competition.

You could contact local businesses and offer to clean their parking lots at night.

You could round up all those carts in town and return them to the stores for a fee. Being a resident of Cali I see lots of carts all over towns.

You could assemble products for people maybe the business selling the product would refer you.

You could run an errand service since most people and businesses are too busy to get everything done.
