In this modern present day,is it wiser to start your own business or invest in a joint stock company?

why or why not?how bout if you were living in te late 1600s.how would your answer differ and why?

All depends on the industry you're planning to go into. I mean, if someone was asking you to invest in the fast food business in the 1600s you'd think they were nuts, right? But if someone had asked you to do that 30 years ago, it would have been a smart move.
The good part about a joint stock company is that it's not just your money and or just your own problem - you can problem-solve together. If you have the brains and the planning necessary to start your own business in a good field though, then do it yourself.
