You have only $1000.00 to invest and open a business because you lost your job.?

How would you invest and what kind of business would you start?

I would be working hard to find a new job if I had only $1,000.

It's great to dream about owning your own business, but it's extremely difficult with so little money. Remember, businesses are not normally profitable from day one. It takes time to build it up. In the meantime, you are losing money, not making it. It may takes months (if you're lucky) or a couple of years before you turn that corner. What will you do until then?

The number one reason for new business failures is lack of working capital. And, that is your number one problem.

Don't give up the dream. Just be realistic about it. Take some time to decide what you want to do. Write out a plan that includes your anticipated startup costs and realistic financial projections for the first couple of years. That will help you to understand how much money you really need to get going and stay going. Then, work towards accumulating that money. Then, you can follow the dream.

Good planning is the difference between success and failure.

I agree. Online business is the way to go.

You'll find it doesn't matter what business it really is. All you have to do is focus on becoming the best in the industry.

Think about this.... look how many restaurants there are. Yet people start new restaurants all the time. Some of these restaurants become very successful. How is that possible given the number of restaraunts that currently exist? They just do something better than the others.

Go for it and good luck.
