What is a good magazine or newspaper to shows good business to invest?

I just started investing and know very little about it. I am looking to subscribe to a magazine or newspaper that will show me good companies to invest in. Also teach you how to use the stock market to create an income. I am basically looking for a magazine that written for someone who knows nothing about investing in stock.

Two that come to mind are Barrons, a weekly newspaper. And Forbes a months magazine. Both deal with investing. They very likely are available at your library. Another source that is perhaps available at your library is Value Line. This is a weekly publication that recommends stocks. Morningstar is another and Standard and Poors also.

Any magazine or newspaper is most likely filled with the same rehashed information each week/month. Try your employer, if they offer a 401K or 457 this allows you to lower your taxable income as well as invest in fairly safe investments. You may want to see if your local area has an investment club, that allows the group to all "pitch in" and invest together (the danger is that you may not agree with a decision the group makes). Of course any financial adviser, planner, rep., would be willing to inform you for a fee. You may want to also look into opening an IRA, you can go to your local bank for this. As a final note, stock is pretty risky, you may want to start with a mutual fund, or several mutual funds that would limit your losses, until you get the hang of it.
