How can I find advice on whether to invest in a business or not?

I've been approached to invest in a new business venture. I believe the business has the potential to be very sucessful, but I'm not sure what sort of checks and investigations I should make?

Where should I go for advice on whether to invest in this business or not?

Well I have a stock in 2 companys and I have spoke to the companies for advice and if i would make money off of them. Call some of the companies you are interested in speak to them. They should give you some useful advice.

if you are looking to invest you must invest in a lawyer. Is it someone you know? If it's a pyramid or online than avoid.

what you do is see if you can get a loan for this business. If the investors see potential in it, then it could be good. I have to warn you, they will ask a lot of tough questions. Check my profile for more info on the site.
