Is a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) or a PhD in Finance worth it even if I am in a stable job? |
I want to join the academe when I retire from the corporate world. Do you think taking a doctorate is the right thing to do before I hit 30s? Is it acceptable to take a distance learning or online degree? Or should I get a degree in a traditional campus? Yes it is worthy taking it. However much it might not look like it now but the organization sector is changing in that more and more people are having competitive educational background. failure to have the Doctorate of Phd which ever you decide might make you miss that promotion, get less assignment and in worse scenerio get retrenched. I believe it would be best to have it before 30. If you are in a stable job, how about attending part time classes particularly in the evening. You will have both the work and education experience. |
