I've worked all my life in a family owned business and going no where. I want a satisfying job,how to get it?

I'm 34, have a BA in Business Administration and majored in finances. I know a lot of the food industry (restaurants) and real estate, but this isn't what I want. I've searched for other jobs but haven't had the break I need. I'm willing to start werever I need to but need somekind of network connection that can help me out.

Do you know what kind of business you want to work in? Are the problems with the job/ the kind of work/ or the family? Are you interested in parlaying your skills now into your new field? I believe you get your satisfying job by partially knowing what you want and then going to get it. "He fell into it." -Yeah but you can't fall into it unless you're out there walking around a lot.
