What kind of capital is required to design a new hard drive? |
I am wondering what is the capital investment a hard drive manufacturing company has when they decide to design a new hard drive? I know this could be really hard to predict or nail down because there is so many variables but any type of number would be nice. Is it a new line of hard drives, just a minor variation of another one. A complete redesign? Just anyone fact about what it costs in this feild would be interesting to know. it is always re-design, why inventing a wheel. It takes years to come up with one. just like would you start a car from scratch or you will modify it. someone starting from scratch would always be behind the technology curve of the established companies in this field - you need millions and lots of experienced people |
