A different finance question about a balance transfer.?

My boyfriend is letting me balance transfer my credit card debt on his credit card. My question is... Will the debt still be listed under my name or is it under his name now? I am a co-user on this account. Thanks in advance.

Your CC account will show that a payment was received and the account balance will go down, just as if you had paid it yourself. If the balance transfer is for the total amount, then your balance will be zero.

If your name is on his account, then your credit report will show this. If his is the only name on his account and you are just using his card, then the debt becomes his alone. There are other legal issues here, seek legal advise if the relationship fails.

It will be listed under his credit, not yours.

However if you guys end up applying for a loan toghther it wont matter that much since they will look at your combined debt.

no it will be under his name and he will be held responsible for the balance. Now if you are a co-user many a secondary user than your responsible as well but if you are a authorized user than you are not held responsible for the debt under his account.
