What would you do if you were in my shoes? A little guidance please...?

I am a 28 year-old non-traditional student, I have 12 years of work experience--5 of those in management, I will have a BS in Quantitative Economics and a BA in Mathematics. I would like to make a good amount of money, get out of debt, and become well invested. I enjoy both Economics and Finance, but with my age I feel I need to get a Masters to get ahead. What do you think? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

I would look into stock brokering and or financial planning with a bank or a life insurance company.

Just a couple of suggestions.

Good luck and God Bless!

I would go for my masters degree first, then job hunt with the increased credentials.

Put out feelers for good jobs that pay for eduction. If you can land something, then go for it. If not, go for your Masters

You absolutely do not need a masters to get ahead, That's just your rationale for being afraid.
I say if your not making enough in your current job find another one, you have to work your way up pretty much anywhere you go regardless of your education. I don't know what your work experience is in (what field) but maybe you need to get into something else and give it a try, but definitely don't waste your time getting a masters because it's not going to get you any furhter in life that you can already go.
It's all about you and taking chances, working hard, and having confidence.
I know an assistant bank manager who is under 25 with no degree making 75k a year.

Girl if you got a ba that's great, you can find a good paying career while you continue your education to get your Masters, I would say go for it, and you really can start getting out of debt now, you don't need a bunch of money, start saving, cut back on debt, pay your bills on time, and Congrats, at 28 you are still young, so go get in the job market while you are young, they offer classes online, evenings, etc whatever it take to finish and get that masters.. I know I'm 23 I'm hold a masters in Business and working towards a doctoral....

You're young with a lot of experience so good job! I would suggest going into Accounting/getting an MBA or a Masters in Accountancy, take the required courses to take the CPA exam and become an accountant.. Accountants make a good $ so I suggest this as a possible career path..

Hope this helps :)

Use the knowledge that you are blessed enough to you are blessed enough to have now to your advantage. Age is only a mental number there is always time to go back to school and further your education. And if you do that you will go back to school with experience in the field! Good luck and best of wishes to you!!
