A collection agency froze my account for a debt that i had already paid?

when i was younger i financed a car using ford motor credit. after losing my job i turned the car in. ford sued me in cort and got a judgment against me using a collection agency. after a few years of dealing with the collection agency i got a call from another collection agency saying they were collectiong on fords behalf. after calling ford and making sure they were legit i sent them a check paying off the whole amount i owed.
9 months later ford and the original collection agency froze my bank acount at christmas. i called ford and the collection agency who froze my account. ford aggred that they werein the wrong and that i had paid but the colection agent was rude and waited a few days to un-freze my acount.
do i have the right to sue ford/the colection agency for frezing my acount for a judgment that had been setled?
if so what should i ask for?

Where do you live. Some totalitarian state? Here in Australia no one can freeze my account(not even the bank)except the govt.Even then only for money owed to the govt.Never ever for a civil debt.If this happened to me here I'd seek legal advice. This advive I'd have sought at christmas

You probably can but would it be worth the time and effort. It could also be considered frivolous. How much would you be willing to pay an attorney to sue for this? I would recommend you get Pre-Paid Legal so you can talk to an attorney without it costing big bucks. www.wfwppl.com has a movie you can watch to see if this is interesting to you.

My guess is that you would be better served getting Ford Motor Credit to write a letter to your bank and any folks impacted by their mistake that indicates what they did. This way, your bank and/or creditors will not hold you responsible. The Pre-Paid attorneys may be able to help pressure Ford to write the letter and certainly could answer the initial question you asked about suing.
