Is there any debt co. that can help if you are behind on car note due to hosptialization?

I was misdiagnoised with an eye infection and it got the right diagnoised and I got the operation to fix it... AT the time of signing my loan,,, I was told I had insurance to coverage that would make my payments should I ever be off of work for a medical condition etc... the finance co. says sorry you arent' covered... no debt co will touch time as it'ds secured... any other co. out there that can help? I hate to lose my car and I want to pay them but can't pay back the back payments... any help you can send my way would be appreciated... thanks

Contact your lender. If they think that you will pay them back, they would rather have you pay than repo the car. Another option is if you have equity in your car, it may be a good idea to sell it and pay off the loan.

Check your loan papers and statements, if you had insurance you would be paying a monthly fee for it. I you have been paying then you need to escalate your complaint within the finance company.

Assuming you don't have insurance, most finance companies are willing to work with borrowers in your situation, if they haven't offered yet contact them again and ask about it. They might bring your loan to a current status and refund some late fees after you make a couple on-time payments. The balance of your loan that is delinquent will get added on to the end of your loan thus extending the length of the loan repayment time or else causing the last payment to be much larger than normal. Repossession of your car is a losing situation for everyone including the finance company so if you show the initiative they should be willing to help. Good Luck
