Metlife or ing direct? |
i have some leftover money from my college fund w/primerica...i'm thinking of using it to open a savings w/ ing direct (considering they have great APY). on the otherhand, i have life insurance with metlife..should i just keep it simple and keep insurance and investments together or try out ing direct? ING Direct. If you have enough for your living expences and can just forget about the money you put there for some time, I can assure you that you won't regret it. But The real question is what you want out of life? and how old are you? Because there is a lot more of those factors that affect the choices you make. If you are pretty young, just getting from college and have a long life ahead, I will suggest to think about investing some money in stocks or something and save some. But like I said, You have to ask yourself what you want out of life? One of the prime rules of investing is never confuse investments with insurance. Go with ing. Another thing to check is 30 Year TBills. Stay away from CD's. How much are you saving? Or do you have to deposit? If you really aren't going to touch it, you would be better investing it in a high grade mutual fund. If you are going to need the funds in less than two years, then ing direct is good but you can get an even better rate at emigrantdirect.com ING Direct is pretty easy to use. If you really want to lock up the money, you can buy a CD in your account, too. |
