What are the benefits of foreign direct investments in a country?

There are two aspects of benefits. For the country where investment flows in, foreign exchange position improves in addition to betterment to market capital. As far as the investor is concerned, he looks for short term capital appreciation plus tax advantage if mutual tax treaty exists between the countries.
