Why Do Americans Let Their Leaders Swindle Them, While Telling Average Joes To Earn Their Money?

It's so incredible how Americans have been brainwashed by Republicans to believe they must earn their money, while many business leaders and politicians knowingly swindle taxpayer money to benefit their friends and companies, and swing contracts their way too. How stupid are people? It's a slave mentality. What our leaders do is essentially welfare, so why is it good for them and bad for poor, average people?

Yes catnip, they do. They give them free healthcare, pay for their college, clean their streets, pave roads properly, among other things. Drive into Canada sometime and take notes on the differences...

It is not just the Republicans, it is the democrats too, the problem is ideology, people are affraid of voting independant, the two partys have been financialy abusing americans and stealing our rightsfor decades, the problem is too many people will vote for one party or the other, not one individule.

Bottom line...
It is about time we kick both the Demoncrats and Retardocans out of office and vote for somone who really reflects our values.

If I HAD TO pick one party that was closest to my values, it would be the libertarian party http://www.lp.org . Libertarians are social liberals and fiscal conservatives, baisicly they are for more states and personal rights, against big government (particularly a big Federal Gov.), and for lower taxes for all, with less wasteful spending on programs like welfare going to lazy people. Just visit the site, try em' you'll like em'. I vote Independant, but most of the time, these guys get my vote.

Part of my point. I think if someone wants to go to college, they should pay for it, not me (through my taxes). I do not think lazy people should be given welfare, supported by the money I worked for that is taken away from me through taxes. Report It

I agee to a point, I'm in college, and my money is on LOAN, I must pay it back (not that it bothers me), however, there are some people that get GRANTS (AKA FREE HANDOUTS) for college, just because they have "poor parents", NOT FAIR (they are just as capeable of paying back loans as I am)!... ...However, I belive college should be free to all (no loans). The reason I belive this, is that education fuels the economy, and I belive a good education is key to a functional democracy, but that eduaction must be practical, it was a complete waste of tax payer money to send me to high school... ...Nothing I learned there applys to my carer as an electrician, we need to reform the education system. The lack of good education is part of the reason there are too many social programs, and our current political situation, not to mention our stagnant economy. Report It

And do the leaders of other countries just give their citezens money for no reason? It's funny how non-Americans love to comment on how the American people "blindly" follow their leaders, when they are doing the same thing. I guess they all really believe their leaders are 100% truthful to them, especially when they lie and say all Americans are "rich".

Plus, those on welfare in America are living off money I worked for (through my taxes). If I have to go out and earn my money, so do they.
