How can a 14-year-old earn money apart from below? I don't spend any money I earn except for xmas etc. presies

It's family tradition to move out at 16 and of course there is the rising property prices thing. I also have coursework and am in the highest classes so am doing extra exams (I am doing 4 GCSEs for ICT) so I can't do much more.

I already baby-sit on nights, do a paper round in mornings and evenings, work part-time on a Saturday in a local shop (baking during day and washing up before paper round & babysitting) then on Sunday I do dog-walking and sometimes car washing if anyone in my town is interested in it, sometimes I go into the next town. Then I also set up a business with friends from school and have my own thing on ebay, what else can I do as I don't think I'll have enough money, despite adding what I've already earnt in the past 2 years and the stuff in my bank account which I got my mum to put my pocket money in when I was 5-12 (got pocket money during this time of 拢2 a week until 8, then 拢5 a week).

Bearing in mind I have the the extra coursework etc.

Already spoken with parents, they won't change the tradition.

Change the tradition. You are way too young too be worrying about buying a house and you seem to work every hour you have. Best thing to do is invest your time in learning so you can get a good job that pays well. Then you can buy a house.

Mate u wanna take it easy, carry on that way and ur gonna fail n then u'll never be able to move out.

Just because past generations have moved out at 16 doesn't mean you have to too. In this day and age we're staying at school longer. Your parents and grandparents are likelly to have moved out at that age because they had a full time job. You dont have to follow that pattern.

First let me say bravo to you! What an amazing hardworking young lady you are! I think that you should save up to get an apartment (flat I think you brits call it?) Try renting first but if you really are keen on buying a house I think you may have to wait until you are technically an adult. I'm not sure that teens can sign legal documents. If you can't afford to rent then maybe get a few friends who are just as reliable as yourself and rent an apt together until you can get a house for yourself.

Good luck!

I must say your family tradition is not my idea of fun. I prefer to have my kids at home!!
You sound like you are doing more than enough, give yourself a break...;

Talk to your parents, you sound like a good kid. Go to college and get a little part ti,e job to see you through.
Don't throw your life (or education) away because of a family tradition.
You never know your parents may like the idea and be glad of the house keeping money you could give them.

Good Luck

I can only echo kira dats answer. Your mum should be proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself. But time to break the family tradition honey.
Is it a family tradition to work as hard as you do at such a young age.No wonder you dont spend any money, you cant have time to.
You are an amazing kid!!!!

Just read your addition, where do you live? surely they cant seriously make you leave, what happens if you have no where to go? Do you have brothers or sisters you can go to. I'm worried about you now.

You seem to be doing an awful lot already, leaving home is not all it is cracked up to be, yes you get to make your own decisions, you also get to do your own washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, and pay the bills, concentrate on your education first, without it you will not be able to make much more money when you leave school, get a trade, they are dying out and don't pay much to start with, but learning something like mechanics, building, carpentry, etc. can be invaluable, and yes I realise that they were once only for boys, but we live in the 21st century, and if you are willing to give it a go, an apprenticeship may be the way to go, I'm sure a tradesman will train someone with enthusiasm.
I wish I had waited to leave home, and have kids, and that I had done what I have suggested to you, but that is my mistake, doesn't have to be yours too!

Blimey when do you have time for a life? it sounds as though you are going to do really well later in life so chill out a bit.like the others are saying break the family tradition surley your parents can see you are a gem

I agree with Gavin. At your age you should be enjoying yourself. It is very commendable seeing you taking such a positive approach to finance, but always remember you should work to live not live to work.
Talk to your parents about your worries, they probably don't know how worried you are about the family tradition.

i think its a bit ruff expecting you to move out at 16 you
cant get a council flat till u r 18 Wit out a baby and a mortgage !!!
you seem know what you are doing and respect to you for that
hope you make it .
i think you should ask your family to support you at least till you are 18 then you can move to on uni and be rich one day.
please don't join the army thats how thay get loads of people
the age bein 16 and not 18

Hiya, I know a girl who moved out from at 16, she's going to colledge and struggling on 拢45 a week. The way you are working you'll fly through it. I think parents have to be strict these days but for a 14 year old, trying to study you have far too much on your plate. I think it's wrong and you should be getting more help. If you are in the UK, contact your special needs teacher or go to citizens advice because you can not study while you are doing everything that you are doing. Find help pet, you deserve it!! XXXX

it may be time to see social services or talk to a teacher you trust and preempt them kicking you out this is unexceptional behaviour on your parents side and dont get them any present they dont deserve them you are a great kid and deserve better
