What job can i get? im 14, i need to earn some money.?

im 14 and need to earn some money but i cant get any like in hair salons etc because im not over 16. what jobs could i get? thankz

A paper round? kitchen washer upper? babysitting?
good luck, good to see the work ethic is alive and well, this will serve you well for the future.

Paper round? My cousins both did that when they were 14/15 and they earnt quite a reasonable amount for their age. Legally you aren't really allowed to do much else, I don't think.

try waitressing in local restaurants paper rounds unfortunately there is not much around for you young teenagers

You might be able to get a job in a pub/restaurant as waitress, i worked in a place a while ago and one of the girls was only 14.

Depends on the state you live and what laws that the state has. If you are eligible to work at 14, you can only work a certain amount of hours per day and/or per week. (Labor laws.) Check with your local or state employment department for further information.

you can try waiter or kitchen assistance

Do some babysitting. Many places offer free classes on how to baby-sit, then print out some flyers offering your baby-sitting services and post them around your neighborhood.

Most fast food chains have programs that begin at 14, with good pay.

Gardening, baby sitting, dog walking and related jobs are good for self motivated people.

Malls will usually also have programs for persons your age.

Try babysitting for local families, make sure you have a friend you could take at least for the first few time.
Odd jobs for people, maybe washing up if you know someone has a bad arm or hands.
Ask your local shop to bare you in mind if something comes up.

I am surprised you didn't think of Babysitting. Unfotunately I don't see yopu being able to waitress at the age of 14 I was a chef for 15 years so I know what I am talking about. BUT I could see you possibly getting a job being an assistant to a food server as a food runner or dining room assistant. They fill water glassesd bring the bread and butter baskets and preclear tables while the party is eating the various courses of their meal. I.e. salad plates, dinner plates etc. Also check out not only resturants but assisted living homes, too , they are always looking for young smiling faces that they don't have to pay too much money to for decent help. I hope this helped good luck and enjoy your summer vacation :---).

You can always hit up the neighbors and offer to do some work that may go undone. At first, to gain their respect, you might have to offer to work unpaid.

Look around. Generally, there are garages that need cleaning out, perhaps a basement or closet that needs organizing. Is there a shed that is piled up and could use some sorting out? Check out the yard. Is there overgrowth that could use chopping down? Could you weed the garden?
Mow the lawn??? Trim bushes or trees?

How about walking the dog? Giving it a bath? Grooming it?

Babysitting? Take the kids to the park. Ride a bike with a pre-teen.

Hauling trash out to the street for an elderly person can earn you points and a referral.

Offer to help out during a garage sale.

Hope this helps.

maybe u can work at restaurant or at KFC/ McD/ Pizza Hut

me now 16 and me work at restaurant, just take order and serve the food. i get 30 dollar a day , night i work as delivery boy for pizza hut, i get 20 dollar not include tips
so i get 50 dollar a day

Lawn mowing, weed pulling, chores for your parents, window washing, snow shoveling, raking...painting, if you go to church, watching the kids during service, envelope stuffing for local businesses, newspaper route, babysitting, cleaning houses for your parents friends, washing cars, writing a teen column for the local newspaper.

If you live in the UK i believe the law states that you cant work until you are 16. The only exception to this is a paper round.

A paper round is a great way of staying in shape as well, an hour or so on your bike every morning is great exercise.....its win win some extra money, stay in shape and wont be more than an hour a day so shouldnt affect your studies so you can go on and earn mega bucks in a top job in a few years!!

also a paper round is great experience - shows future employers that you can be committed to a job - getting up early every day come rain or shine! May not sound like much but it really will help!!

Also you can often pick up great tips - at xmas i used to make about 拢200 and there were regular tippers who gave me extra throughout the year!

concentrate on your studies first then, the world is your oyster and you will be able to earn far more money with a good education bahind you. It may not seem the way now but trust me it will pay off in the long run. Do you really want to be sweeping hair for the rest of your life or would you prefer to own the salon. Follow your dreams. I left school with nothing, and worked packing newspapers at 14. Trust me it didnt pay off. I decided at the age of 40 I wanted a better life, I have just opened my own business. It feels great not to answer to anyone, wish I had done it years ago.

Previously you needed to get a work permit...not too sure if you still do now though but check this out anyway.

Why not try a shoe shop, if you live in london you should try the shops on Oxford Street.

organise parties for your friends!!

If you are trying to work from home or just trying to make a little extra money check out this site below. Its got a list of sites that are free to join free to earn. Also all these sites pay out by checks and/or paypal (most pay out by checks). So if you want some real sites that arent scams just check it out. Good luck , maybe this will help until you turn 16.

Paper route, dishwasher, dog walker, or babysitter. If it were me (and I've been there) I would go with the dogs or the kids. At least if you're babysitting they may tip you big if you're nice.

if you play soccer, and are in decent shape, then you could become a soccer referee. i am young and a ref and the pay is really good. like $20 a game. i don't know if your rec soccer club allows non-adults to ref though

look at my profile, and visit the site under "about me"...sign up there....here is some information about the site:

This is a site from which you are given the chance to earn money. What you have to do is complete surveys and offers for companies that want the public's opinion. By doing this, you are able to earn money very easily for simply giving your opinion or trying out sample products. This is a great service that allows one to work from home, on their spare time, at their leisure, and still bring in a nice sum of money every month. People have made up to $800 easily on this site by just working on it in their spare time. It is not going to replace a real job's salary, but it is a very nice bonus. There are also many features on this web site, such as contests and special surveys, from which you can redeem extra prizes that would be sent to you with your monthly cheque, such as iPods, Xbox 360s, gift certificates, and much more.

Cheques are sent monthly, and usually arrive about a week or a week and a half into the next month. No payment from you is ever required, not to sign up, not EVER. Unlike other sites that try to scam people out of their money, this site never requires you to pay them.

"If the site doesn't get paid from me, then why would they have this service going?" - The site doesn't get paid directly from you, but when you complete an offer or survey, they also get paid a small portion of what you earned yourself. For example, if you complete a survey about computers let's say, you would earn maybe $2 and the web site itself would recieve $0.50 from the company also for getting you to complete the survey. These surveys take little time at all, most taking up less than even 2 or 3 minutes of your time.

Fraud is also a big deal on the Internet these days, and this site recognizes that. That is why they ask for ONLY three bits of information: Your name, email address and your home address. Yup, that is all. No credit card information, no banking information, nothing like that. All they require is your name and address so that your cheque can be sent to your home every month. Your email address is only required to confirm that you have done the offers and surveys. Fortunately, no spam mail or junk mail is ever sent out by this site and your information is never shared with any other company.

Personally I have been a member of this website, along with thousands of others, for approximately 1 year now and have earned well over $2500 by working in my spare time. This web site has been great to me, also the members and administrator are very friendly, and are always there to help you with a question or problem you may be having. So far, I've listed only positives about this site, because I can't think of a single negative thing about it. Earn money in your spare time, at no cost to you...Simple!

Shop assistant, babysitting, cleaning (for family and friends)

Here is a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

Good luck!

I've known people aged under 16 get Saturday jobs in hairdressing salons, there is no law against this.
You wouldn't be able to work in a pub through.
See http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Fami...
for information on what you can do and when you are allowed to work.
(You should check your local council's web-site for the precise rules/laws for where you live.)
