Ways for 14 yr old to earn money?

i am really intereted in earning money! i have got a paper round but the money is just not enough!
i have tried dog-walking and garden cleaning but nobody seems to be interested in it! my mum won't let me baby sit for safety reasons, eg, danger towards the baby i might cause.
i am really stuck for ideas.
could anybody help me at all? by the way please dont post me sites to work online as i'm not aloud to do that and they're mostly cons.
also im from the UK so no american ideas please!
thanks for everything ... katie

Do you have garage sales over there? You could put your stuff out and make quite a profit on your unused or unwanted items.

clean cars :)

Dog-walking is a good idea. You just need to advertise your service properly.

Good for you trying to earn money.

Can you work in a shop? Perhaps a clothes shop you like.

Or at a stables? Do you like horses?

I worked in a chemist after school and on weekends too - it was a great way to earn money (and was always warm - not like paper rounds or dog walking!)

Good luck x

How about doing something like Avon? - I did that when I was 14.. You get some extra money and also get free makeup and stuff..
Its alot of work though - well, depending on how many people you sell it too and how often you sell it to them.. go on the avon website if your interested..

You are just a bit young to do anything other than you have suggested. What a great person you sound - and very good luck for the future which, with your attitude, should be great.

hi katie,

when i was 14/15 i used to go round my local neighbourhood cleaning cars and i used to roll back home with about 拢30 a day. Take a friend with you though as its much more fun and safer too!

I had a Saturday job at 14...in a grocery shop...ask around..take a cv with you. (I'm in the UK)

give afterclass help, homework assistance etc. pays better than baby sitting

well i work in a hairdressers on saturday mornings..
and im 15 and from england :)

but i did work in there when i was 14 too...

what about a Saturday job or doing favours for people like fetching some shopping for them there's lots you can do really

I have a 13 yr old daughter who is always trying to find ways to make some money. She does walk one dog. In the summer she sells iced tea ... in one day she made $25 (USA dollar amount). Babysitting is a good idea. If your mother won't let you babysit in someone's home, try asking if you could babysit in your home with your mother home that way if you need any help, she's there. Selling Avon is another excellent option. I myself sell it. There is a part of Avon that is more for the younger girls to young adults, it's called Mark.

Good Luck

If you have a paper round and are planning on keeping it, go to local businesses and offer to deliver leaflets for them. This will take no extra time and whilst profits are not huge, with the amount of different businesses you could get on board and by putting in a bit of extra time, the money could soon mount up.
Have a look into ebay as well. Try looking in pound shops for branded merchandise that you think might sell. Buy one or two and put them on ebay and see how they do. Start them off at 99p and even if they don't go for much more, you haven't lost anything. Sales are also good places to find things to sell. The disney store recently had figures for a pound that RRP at around 拢10.
Just keep your eyes open all the time for ideas of what you think might sell. There's no reason you won't be able to come up with something just because you're 14 !
