What is a pacific invest fund and how does it work? i really have no idea please help :(?

okaaay this is very very confusing for my little brain! and theres probably nothing to be confused about! but can someone please explain it to me the easy way?

first go to Wikipedia and look up 'investment fund'.
then, when you understand what a fund is, go to google and find Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) and look at their extensive web site.
There, first step on a long journey to becoming a real investor!
