Which company is easier to get a laptop from?

I'm looking to invest in a notebook. I'm fixing my credit and after a while, I see some improvement. But my computer just crashed and now, I decided to get a laptop. However, since I'm just rebuilding my credit, I might get rejected. I went to these "no credit" solutions, but the laptops they have were pretty weak. I don't need a monster laptop, but it have to be at least a dual core.

I'm trying to decide between HP and Dell. From experience, which company offers not only a better deal, but an easier approval?

I worked at Best Buy for over 3 years and I worked in the computer department for the same amount. Now if you are trying to get your moneys worth go with whats on sale. It seams like you don't have the cash or credit for a fancy one, so its best you keep it affordable but not SLOW.

In the last 2 years the computer technology has become increasingly competitive; therefore, technology (laptops) become obsolete real real fast (faster than fashion). If you are trying to buy a laptop directly from the manufacture it my be difficult to get a deal. The reason is that most manufactures advertise the newest things and technology, so they charge you for this. But when you go to retailers like Best Buy, Office Max, Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, and Costco (hint: use their weekly ad) they are trying to get rid of devices that are only a few months old. Few months real world means ages in the tech world and thats why you can get them cheap with great speed, memory, and storage.

The trick is to:
1)Be sabby about technology, you better know what your buying and do homework on the proper speed, memory, and storage for your necessities.

2) Be patient and act fast. What? Right now there are a lot of good back to school deals. You might have missed a few and you might still find some. But if you don't find any deals wait, wait for the holiday season or maybe for a near sale.

Oh yeah how to pay for it? Well I really cant help you there. I know Best Buy and Circuit City offer crazy 0% interest for 12 and 18 months when you have their credit card. Getting approved is another thing. Remember you can always open a new card with another bank, don't limit yourself.

Finally, the average user (not people that game) should never pay more than $900 for their laptop and Toshibas are kick *** (read the reviews). I got my laptop for only $700 and at the time it was bad ***. Oh yeah look for AMD because Intel is overrated, seriously.

Remember, I am not getting any kickbacks its all pure knowledge.

I've had problems with both. Dell was easy to get credit but then I have excellent credit. Your best bet would be to check your Sunday paper for deals and shop around. Check online too. Dell was very easy to order online and I had my computer in a day or two.

Avoid HP! Their tech support and customer service are both awful!! I am in the market myself right now and HP is not even on my list. Consumer Reports listed their Customer Service very low as well. I would happily pay a few hundred $ extra to avoid them if I had to, but Dell is usually less expensive as well.
