I want vending machines. Own my own busy building and want to make a profit in Hamilton, Ontario?

I own a large medical building that is very busy as it houses a pharmacy, physiotherapy centre, multiple doctor's offices among other amenities. (But no vending machines.) I figure I can make a decent profit just off one large machine selling snacks or bottled drinks.

The problem is I don't know where to start. Do I offer the space to an already established vending company, or should I buy my own machine and restock and maintain it myself? I think I am more interested in the second option as it's pretty easy for me to maintain the machine and I do have money to invest - I just don't know where to start...

If you have any questions let me know, I think like these types of machines.. http://snipurl.com/1evxl [photo] or maybe a bottled drink machine.

I'm in Southern Ontario in Canada.

Thanks so much, hoping to get some advice!

Call your local beverage distributor (they are listed in yellow pages like that). They have sales reps who offer those exact services to people like you. There are a variety of plans - your rep will explain the details. Compare a couple - Pepsi vs Coke for example - most will want an exclusive (just pepsi products or just coke products) and will offer better commissions if they can get one. Besides you really don't want the hassle of fixing the machines, giving refunds, getting product, collecting money, paying invoices etc. If you insist on doing it yourself, call a local vending machine company and you can look into used equip options. But in the end I think you find the distributors make it so easy and hassle free. Be sure to offer healthy alternatives since you are a med building. Juices and healthier snacks vs just sodas and candy. You could also try this at the distributors expense for a year or so and if things are going really well maybe then look into doing your own thing.
