Difference between equity share & FDI?

when foren ccompany want to invest then investment in form of what ,if in form of fdi then equity means what

FDI stands for Foriegn Direct Investment. It is usually used when talking about the level of foriegn investment in a country, not a company - although in some places local partners are required.

FDI in company terms would be how much money foriegn firms invested in terms of cash - regardless of what they got in return, equity, an alliance, a factory, etc.

Equity is ownership in a company, which is to say that shares can be transferred to another party, effectively giving them voting rigths and ownership of a % of the firm.

FDI usually refers to a company taking a large equity stake in a foreign company. Equity share refers to shares of stock.
