Legal and tax procedures for accepting seed investment from a non-US citizen...? |
We're a small LLC looking for seed investment. We were fortunate enough to receive it from a good friend of ours who is not a U.S. citizen. We're trying to understand the legal and tax procedures that comes with (a) taking 'under $50k' seed investment in return for equity and (b) from a foreign citizen. Any tips or direction to any resources would be so much appreciated. We're just turning to yahoo answer to gain initial insights from the large community. Thank you so much! My LLC is a partnership What is the tax structure of the LLC though? S-corp, C-corp, partnership, sole proprietorship? Need to know that info to begin to help you. |
