I have used home equity loan to by some stock. Is my loan interest deductible as investment expense?

No, it isn't. Matter of fact, if the brokerage you bought through knows you took out a loan in order to invest, they can be prosecuted and lose their license.

Don't ask me what the moral or ethical difference between that and a margin account is.
