Why does private equity investments increase ?

recent years saw a drastic increase in private equity investments. can you please list all the possible reasons for this trend ?

private equity has always been poplular, its just been in the news recently

what do you think warren buffet does at times. instead of private. companies goes into berkshire hathaway.

However, it would be due to more hedge funds.

#1.) Less regulation
#2.) The ability to re-organize without being beholden to quarterly results
#3.) Cache, and "club" type feel.
