What investment level does an investor have to be to enter Fidelity funds closed to new investors?

I always understood there was a certain amount of funds which granted access to particular closed mutual funds in Fidelity such as the Contrafund.

How much money do you need with Fidelity to gain access to these funds?

I'm afraid everyone else is right...closed means closed. ( Sorry I recommended FDIVX in my last answer...but if you look at Morningstar or Kiplingers, maybe you can find something similar ( so many funds are almost identical)...I really wish someone had a " tool" that would give you three or four " comparables" if you entered a fund symbol.
I'm a Fidelity guy myself, but some other families are available through Fido with " no transaction fees".... or here's a couple of more in that international area: FIGRX and FOSFX..... both Fidelity, both invested in major companies ( large caps)...but I think the FIGRX is more geared to " growth" than the Overseas fund.
Check 'em out...they could really put a jolt into the portfolio for a few years.... then you can settle down to " conservatism".
P.S. I like your style...one of the first things I always look at in funds is performance in the " bad times"...
Good luck.

Why not call your Fidelity contact and ask him. I know that accounts are rated gold, platnium etc which is based on your level of investment but I never thought about trying to switch my funds to a closed account. I have some funds in a closed Fidelity account and thought that there was no chance that others could invest once it was closed.

Closed mutual funds at Fidelity mean that the funds are closed to new investors in that fund. No one except those already invested in the fund may buy additional shares of the fund.

Closed means closed. You can't get in. If you have any money in a closed fund, you can add to it, but that account has to be established Before they close.

Fidelity usually has other funds that are still open that have similar investment strategies to the closed funds and should provide similar returns.

Also, the only reason they are closed, is that they have gotten too big (too much money). A closed fund usually does not perform as well as an open fund due to "inefficiencies" in the market.
