What is the financial investment term called when banks loan money to other banks paying a fixed rate? Depends on where you are. In the US it's call the discount rate ( the amount fed banks charge other banks ). In London it is called 'LIBOR' which stands for London Inter-bank overnight rate. Fed Funds rate.
