What really is the difference between an investment banker, financial anaylst, finance officer and so forth?

I'm keen to work in the financial sector, but am really unsure what all these intricate names mean and whats important is what is their scope of job? What is the difference between an investment banker and a broker? And what do they actually do? Hope you can help! Thanks!

This is a good site http://www.bloomberg.com/invest/glossary... (US site)

"Financial analysts
Also called securities analysts and investment analysts. Professionals who analyze financial statements, interview corporate executives, and attend trade shows, in order to write reports recommending either purchasing, selling, or holding various stocks. "

I believe (so take it with a pinch of salt, k?):
Investment banker= looks for investment opportunities for a bank
Broker= person who works in a stock exchange to facilitate selling/buying
Financial analyst= finds data with which he analysts financial trends
Financial Officer= one of the top dogs in a company. CFO is right below a CEO
