Why would a country want foreign investment?

List the reasons

Investment creates capital. Capital requires labor. More investment means there is more demand for labor and thus rising wages.

Foreign investment is particularly insensitive to wages; foreign investors are so happy to hire people at lower wages compared to their home countries that they don't mind paying a substantial premium over the local wage level.

For surviving their economy.
