How can I invest in a Hedge Fund?

I want to invest in a Hedge fund called Appaloosa Management run by David Tepper. I wnat to know what steps to take to invest in his fund.

More info below:

I dont want to know what is required.

I am already a qualified investor !

I want Appaloosa Management's contact details, phone number, address or email so I can contact them directly and invest my money with them.

Any brokerage firm that deals with hedge funds can offer this. Typically, these would be your heavy hitters such as Merrill Lynch or Goldman Sachs.

One can only invest in hedge funds if one fits the SEC definition of an accredited investor. Per Investopedia, that is someone who meets at least one of the following criteria:

1) earn an individual income of more than $200,000 per year, or a joint income of $300,000, in each of the last two years and expect to reasonably maintain the same level of income.

2) have a net worth exceeding $1 million, either individually or jointly with his or her spouse.

3) be a general partner, executive officer, director or a related combination thereof for the issuer of a security being offered.

As Rob D said above, you need to be an acreditted investor to get to hedge funds.

But think the minimun net worth required is 2.5 millions, not 1 million.

Go to Chatham, New Jersey and ask anyone for David Tepper.

He is one of the richest man in the World and everybody knows where he lives.

I believe the new rules for hedge fund investors will require that they have $2.5 million in liquid net worth, which excludes any equity tied up in their home. I don't think that has taken effect yet, however.
