Can a fund manager control the price of a certain stock if he or she has enough funds to control the stock?

In other words, enough funds to be able to purchase the majority of the free float available for a certain stock?

Definitly YES. But such price manipulation would be unlawful.

He would have influence, but there are a lot of factors that go into the price of the stock, such profitablility, expectations of the company, ect...

The person could have influences such as who to have on the board of execs. and maybe even some influence on the companies operations.

So, indirectly, I suppose the answer would be yes.
