how does a person get started making money from other people in hedging? I am guessing what exactly you mean by the question. Suppose you R a company X and selling call options on apple's share with strike price 0f $65 & current price is $55, at $2.5 premium on one option contract. to Bank of America and invested an amount equaling the notional amount in the apple's shares & bought worth$110,000 (200 sharesx55). If market go's up the buyer of the option contract is going to activate his option & ur company will charge a premium on call option($2.5 x 200=$500) and ur company X has to deliver him the 200 shares @ $55 which has been promised on (strike price). So ur company had made $500 in 1 month time or whatever. |
