If I make a monthly withdrawal of Rs25000 from the mutual funds that I have invested in,am I taxed ? |
Assuming that I have no income tax liability presently ,I'd like to know if this RS25000.00 is liabile for income tax? Long term (> 1 year) capital gains tax is 0. Depending on the nature of withdrawals you are making you will be taxable.Normally Long Term Investment holding in MF don't not attract any Capital Gain Tax, however Short Term Investment (holding period is less than 12 months ) will be subject to Capital Gain Tax . Dividends received if any from such MF are Tax Free. |
