Will the check go thru?? |
This might be a dumb question. Im reciving my income tax money in my checking account in about 2 days. I NEED to get a new cell phone TODAY, but wont have the $$ for it until the money hits my account in a few days. Can i just write a check out for the phone today and be safe? I know some places have " vericheck" where they can take the funds out right away, thats why im a little nervous.... think its ok?? That's called 'kiting' the check, and years ago I would have said yes, you'd get away with it. But these days.. who knows? Depends on how the bank transfers the funds.. do you want to risk getting hit with an NSF charge from your bank, and also a returned check charge from whoever you wrote it to? You can survive for a 2 days without a cell phone.. or buy a cheaper model! Wouldn't do it if I were you. Just wait until the money is there. You can't possible NEED a cell phone that bad! |
